Utility Coordination and Storm Sewer Work Advancing
Work Completed This Week The contractor completed sanitary sewer installation throughout the Hook Drive Extension corridor and continued storm sewer placement across the site. Riprap and outlet storm sewer were installed for the west basin. Two abandoned septic tanks within the project area were also removed. Nicor cut back and capped a gas main in conflict with the proposed roadway construction and lowered a gas service feeding Oak Hill to clear the work zone. AT&T completed the removal of the overhead line and pole in conflict with the project.
Work Anticipated Next Week Excavation in the west basin is anticipated to finish on Saturday, followed by stump grinding of trees removed earlier in the week. Topsoil respread in the west basin is expected to be completed. Storm sewer installation is planned to continue throughout the Hook Drive Extension, and earth excavation and embankment placement are anticipated to advance across the site. Water main installation is planned to begin later in the week.
Neighborhood Impacts Construction traffic may be entering and exiting the Hook Drive Extension site at Nicole Lane. Residents and drivers in the area should use caution when traveling near the project entrance.
