Sanitary Sewer Installation and Basin Work Progressing

Work Completed This Week
Tree clearing was completed early in the week. The contractor began removing and disposing of unsuitable material from the west basin and finished hauling excess topsoil off-site. Sanitary and storm sewer installation continued throughout the extension corridor. Earth excavation and embankment placement progressed across the site.

Work Anticipated Next Week
Removal and disposal of unsuitable material in the west basin are anticipated to be completed. Topsoil respread in the basin is expected to finish as well. Sanitary sewer installation is planned for completion, while storm sewer installation is projected to continue throughout the Hook Drive Extension corridor. Earth excavation and embankment placement are anticipated to continue. The contractor is also scheduled to remove two abandoned septic tanks. Nicor is anticipated to be on site to address two utility conflicts with the proposed roadway work, and AT&T is expected to remove an overhead line and pole in conflict with construction activities.

Neighborhood Impacts
Construction traffic may be entering and exiting the Hook Drive Extension site at Nicole Lane. Residents and drivers in the area should use caution when traveling near the project entrance. Please watch for construction signage, follow all posted traffic control measures, and visit this website for weekly updates throughout the duration of the project.
