Work Completed This Week
The contractor performed clearing and grubbing across the project site. Layout for silt fence was completed, and both silt fence and inlet baskets were installed for erosion control. A construction entrance was established at Nicole Lane, and tree stump grinding began throughout the extension corridor.

Work Anticipated Next Week
The contractor plans to continue tree stump grinding across the site and begin topsoil stripping in preparation for future grading and utility work.

Neighborhood Impacts
Construction traffic may be entering and exiting the Hook Drive Extension site at Nicole Lane. Residents and drivers in the area should use caution when traveling near the project entrance. Please watch for construction signage, follow all posted traffic control measures, and visit this website for weekly updates throughout the duration of the project.

Temporary signage was placed today. Work on the Hook Drive Extension project is anticipated to start Monday, September 22^nd, weather permitting.

Motorists and pedestrians approaching the work zone are urged to pay close attention to orange signs and flaggers in work zones, obey posted speed limits, avoid cell phone use, be alert for construction workers and equipment, and obey closures and safety measures.

On behalf of the Village of Round Lake Beach, we would like to welcome you to the project website for the Hook Drive Extension project. This construction of a new roadway extension of Hook Drive from Nicole Lane to Orchard Lane, and associated improvements at the intersection of Rollins Road and Nicole Lane / Woodbine Drive is part of the Village of Round Lake Beach’s continued initiative to improve the infrastructure throughout the community.

This project will be funded by a combination of Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and local funds provided by the Village of Round Lake Beach.

This project will construct an extension of Hook Drive from Nicole Lane to Orchard Lane in the Village of Round Lake Beach.  The intersection of Rollins Road and Nicole Lane / Woodbine Drive will also be improved. The total gross and net lengths of the project are 0.58 miles in the Village of Round Lake Beach.

In accordance with the Village of Round Lake Beach Ordinance, daily working hours for the construction project are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays, and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. There is currently no work anticipated on Sundays or major legal Holidays.
