Utility Work and Site Preparation Advancing

Work Completed This Week
The contractor began installing sanitary sewer along the Hook Drive Extension corridor. Rip rap and storm sewer were placed for the outlet in the east basin, and a construction entrance was installed off Orchard Lane to support site access.

Work Anticipated Next Week
Tree clearing is expected to take place early in the week. Removal and disposal of unsuitable material in the west basin are planned to begin, along with hauling of excess topsoil off-site. Sanitary and storm sewer installation is anticipated to continue throughout the corridor, while earth excavation and embankment placement are projected to advance across the site. Two abandoned septic tanks are scheduled to be removed, and Nicor is expected to be on site to address two locations in conflict with the proposed roadway construction work.

Neighborhood Impacts
Construction traffic may be entering and exiting the Hook Drive Extension site at Nicole Lane. Residents and drivers in the area should use caution when traveling near the project entrance. Please watch for construction signage, follow all posted traffic control measures, and visit this website for weekly updates throughout the duration of the project.
