Work Completed This Week Topsoil stripping was completed across the site. Earth excavation and embankment placement continued along the extension corridor, and topsoil placement was finished over the excavated portion of the east basin. In the west basin, the contractor completed grubbing and topsoil stripping and began earth excavation. ComEd was on site to finish their work associated with removing the utility pole in conflict with the project.
Work Anticipated Next Week Earth excavation and embankment placement are expected to continue throughout the site. Additional excavation in the west basin is scheduled to progress, and hauling of excess topsoil off-site is anticipated to begin. Installation of sanitary and storm sewer is projected to start late in the week.
Neighborhood Impacts Construction traffic may be entering and exiting the Hook Drive Extension site at Nicole Lane. Residents and drivers in the area should use caution when traveling near the project entrance. Please watch for construction signage, follow all posted traffic control measures, and visit this website for weekly updates throughout the duration of the project.
