Nicole Lane Improvements and Sidewalk Construction
Work Completed This Week The contractor completed storm sewer installation along Woodbine Drive and continued removal of curb and gutter along Nicole Lane. Excavation for roadway widening also progressed, along with installation of pipe underdrain and aggregate subbase.
Most of the concrete sidewalk along the Hook Drive Extension was formed and poured during the week. The contractor also removed the existing south entrance to the Lake County Courthouse on Nicole Lane and excavated for the new entrance and parking stalls. As part of the temporary traffic signal work, the Lake County Division of Transportation interconnect along Rollins Road was rerouted.
Work Anticipated Next Week A two-week road closure along Nicole Lane is expected to begin Monday morning. Removal of curb and gutter is anticipated to continue along Nicole Lane and Woodbine Drive. Excavation for roadway widening, along with installation of pipe underdrain and aggregate subbase, is scheduled to continue in both locations.
Completion of the remaining storm sewer installation on Nicole Lane at Rollins Road is planned. Forming and pouring of the remaining sidewalk sections along the Hook Drive Extension are expected to continue. Installation of concrete light pole bases is anticipated to begin, and curb and gutter placement along Nicole Lane and Woodbine Drive is planned.
Neighborhood Impacts
Construction traffic may be entering and exiting the Hook Drive Extension site at Nicole Lane. Residents and drivers in the area should use caution when traveling near the project entrance. Please watch for construction signage, follow all posted traffic control measures, and visit this website for weekly updates throughout the duration of the project.
