Nicole Lane Improvements and Intersection Work

Work Completed This Week
The contractor implemented the two-week road closure and detour along Nicole Lane on Monday, June 22. The remaining storm sewer installation on Nicole Lane at Rollins Road was completed, while curb and gutter removal, roadway widening, pipe underdrain installation, and aggregate subbase placement continued along Nicole Lane and Woodbine Drive.

Concrete sidewalk construction progressed along the Hook Drive Extension, with additional curb and gutter poured along Nicole Lane and two driveway aprons completed. The contractor also removed the existing handholes and concrete traffic signal bases at the Rollins Road and Nicole Lane/Woodbine Drive intersection and began installing concrete light pole bases for the proposed street lighting.

Work Anticipated Next Week
Directional drilling for the proposed traffic signal conduit at the Rollins Road and Nicole Lane/Woodbine Drive intersection is expected to begin. Grading of the aggregate base for roadway widening along Nicole Lane and Woodbine Drive is scheduled to continue in preparation for paving. Completion of curb and gutter placement along Nicole Lane and Woodbine Drive is anticipated, along with the remaining concrete light pole bases.

Pavement patching and Hot Mix Asphalt binder course paving are projected to begin in the widened areas of Nicole Lane and Woodbine Drive, with binder course paving for driveways also planned. Topsoil respread adjacent to the new sidewalk along the Hook Drive Extension is expected to be completed. The Nicole Lane road closure and detour signage are anticipated to be removed on Friday, July 3.

Neighborhood Impacts

Construction traffic may be entering and exiting the Hook Drive Extension site at Nicole Lane. Residents and drivers in the area should use caution when traveling near the project entrance.
