Binder Course Paving and Storm Sewer Work Continuing
Work Completed This Week The contractor installed inlet filter baskets within the curb along the Hook Drive Extension and continued storm sewer installation along Nicole Lane. Backfilling behind the newly installed curb and gutter progressed throughout the corridor, and the aggregate subgrade was fine graded in preparation for Hot Mix Asphalt binder course paving.
The contractor also connected street lighting conduit above ground in preparation for conduit plowing operations. Both detention basins were dewatered, prime coat was applied, and paving of the Hot Mix Asphalt binder course began along the Hook Drive Extension. Storm sewer installation also began along Woodbine Drive.
Work Anticipated Next Week Placement of longitudinal joint sealant is expected along the first lift of Hot Mix Asphalt binder course. Tack coat application and additional binder course paving are anticipated to continue throughout the corridor. Fine grading of the detention basins with topsoil is planned, and stabilization work within the basins is projected to be completed. Conduit plowing for the proposed street lighting is scheduled to begin. Maintenance transfer activities and installation of temporary traffic signals at Rollins Road and Nicole Lane/Woodbine Lane are also anticipated to take place.
