Culvert Installation and Basin Excavation Progress

Work Completed This Week
The contractor continued topsoil stripping across the site and installed the majority of the pipe culvert, including rip rap at the downstream end. Earth excavation and embankment placement progressed along the extension corridor. Excavation of the east basin was completed down to subgrade, followed by initial topsoil placement over the excavated area. ComEd was also on site to begin removing a light pole in conflict with the project.

Work Anticipated Next Week
The contractor plans to complete topsoil stripping throughout the site. Earth excavation and embankment placement is anticipated to continue, as well as the installation of sanitary sewer.

Neighborhood Impacts
Construction traffic may be entering and exiting the Hook Drive Extension site at Nicole Lane. Residents and drivers in the area should use caution when traveling near the project entrance.
