Work Completed This Week The contractor continued clearing and grubbing throughout the project site and began stripping topsoil in preparation for grading. Tree stump grinding was completed across the site. In addition, the contractor sawcut curb and gutter as well as the concrete driveway aprons into Oak Hill, preparing these areas for removal.
Work Anticipated Next Week The contractor plans to install barricades to close off the driveway aprons into Oak Hill. Work is also scheduled to include the removal of curb and gutter, driveway aprons, and pavement behind Oak Hill. Topsoil stripping is anticpated to continue across the site. The contractor plans to begin earth excavation and embankment placement for installation of a 24-inch culvert, which is also planned for placement next week. Removal of a shed located within the project site is also anticipated.
Neighborhood Impacts Construction traffic may be entering and exiting the Hook Drive Extension site at Nicole Lane. Residents and drivers in the area should use caution when traveling near the project entrance. Please watch for construction signage, follow all posted traffic control measures, and visit this website for weekly updates throughout the duration of the project.
